Relay Final Leg!

Article from Democratic Herald
Oregon State Police Trooper Chris Walker leads the Law Enforcement Torch Run out of Tangent toward Corvallis on Friday. Behind him twins Nick and Chris Bilyeu, 15, of Lebanon take turns running with the torch. The run is a benefit for Special Olympics. The local run was one of several torch runs that took place over the last several days. This year, mid-valley agencies were part of the final leg of the run, which ended in Corvallis to kick off this year's Special Olympics Oregon Summer Games, to be held today and Sunday. Last year officers in Oregon raised more than $100,000 to support the Special Olympics. More than 1,200 Special Olympics athletes will compete today and Sunday in events at Crescent Valley High School, Trysting Tree Golf Course and Williams Field in Corvallis.
