Ken Davis Unsung Hero Award
Congratulations to Lt. PJ Steigleder of the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office. PJ was honored with the 6th Annual Ken Davis Unsung Hero Award for his service and dedication to LETR and Special Olympics Oregon. PJ Steigleder has been involved in LETR for 10 years, and he has led the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office to be the top fundraising agency in Oregon. Through events such as Cops-on-Doughnut Shops, Tip-A-Cop and a statewide Harley-Davidson Raffle, Steigleder and the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office raised more than $25,000 in 2006. In 2008, he will take over as the Chair of the Executive Council of LETR, and he has been selected to represent Oregon in the 2007 World Games Final Leg in China in October. "One of the reasons I became a deputy sheriff was to help people," Steigleder said. "Special Olympics gives me that opportunity. I have four boys, none of whom has any intellectual disabilities. So we as a family are very fortunate, and we pay it forward by volunteering for Special Olympics." Congratulations PJ!
